VERMONT: Pepper is still at the shelter. 💔 There is no risk of him being euthanized, he's just very sad and lonely. I found out why he was returned and it was 100% not his fault. Which cats people want is sometimes so mysterious. We got a cat a few months ago who had been returned months earlier and had given up on trying to make people like her. But she's the sweetest thing now and when we cuddle her we often ask, "how is it nobody else fell in love with her before us?"

Any number of reasons a good kitty might get returned by a good home. Maybe there was another pet that just didn’t get along with him. If I weren’t on the other side of the country I’d go get Pepper myself!
