That is correct. It's been hanging out with the local bald eagles. There's some thought that it might be mating with them. Time will tell

My understanding is that's the case with these guys is that they look like a bald eagle but bigger when they hybridize. I don't believe the stellar Eagle traits manifest from what I understand. Though who's know what happens in generations or two?

Terra Nova National Park re-opened roads to where the eagle was spotted, supposed to close them tomorrow. Weather here might leave them open in the new year, though. If you want to fly in to see it, CYQX (Gander) is the nearest airport. CYYT (St John's) the major airport.
