Bison gather there little ones in nurseries. Here a group of little Red Dogs mill around and contemplate what kinda trouble they can cause the rents next.
They are adorable though. I do understand the temptation to scratch between those ears. I wouldn't do it though. Don't want to be gored or trampled to death.
Were you around the Inn at Old Faithful back in the day when George 🦬 the Bison stood guard at the rear entrance most days? With him 2ft from the doors, most guests went around the long way to the parking lot 😁

In the park they're really habituated to people so their defensive bubble is pretty small, but touch one and it's all over.

sure, 25 yards might be a typical privacy zone for a bison
but there is some variation, probably best to err on the side of caution
