I have booked my adventure for July. It will be my first time. I canβt wait to see Everything, and promise to be a responsible, respectful, and appreciative guest. ππ¦ππ«π
Bison gather there little ones in nurseries. Here a group of little Red Dogs mill around and contemplate what kinda trouble they can cause the rents next.
They are adorable though. I do understand the temptation to scratch between those ears. I wouldn't do it though. Don't want to be gored or trampled to death.
Were you around the Inn at Old Faithful back in the day when George 𦬠the Bison stood guard at the rear entrance most days? With him 2ft from the doors, most guests went around the long way to the parking lot π
Letβs try that math again. π€¦ββοΈ 1m = 1.1 yards, so 22-25m. Honestly, I would never get that close on purpose β sometimes the bison have other ideas.
True
Oh so true
Bison in the park see about 4 million visitors a year. They are very habituated.
Bison elsewhere, not so much and may react "poorly" at distances greater than 128 bananas
If you voted for the a-hole admin that fired all the Parks staffers- please - go snuggle up to them. Look how soft they look. Go ahead - give them a hug!
Comments
In the park they're really habituated to people so their defensive bubble is pretty small, but touch one and it's all over.
25 yards people
25 yards
You learn something new every day! ππ
Iβd say 50 yards, but thatβs likely since Iβm at the age where my kids and grandkids can outrun meβ¦ππ±
sure, 25 yards might be a typical privacy zone for a bison
but there is some variation, probably best to err on the side of caution
You did something stupid
They see more tourists than the humans do
For discussions like this they are basically equal to each other.
