Despite media narratives which highlight the agency of founders, regulators, and algorithms, the real thing that steers the ship of the internet is users. My work is about trying to write a user-centric history of the internet through memes.
So be a producer, not a consumer here. Support the creators you care about. Be a mod or an admin. Repost, troll the bad guys, participate in the comments.
There is no viable route but the digital one for the scale of change and mobilization we need. Whatever a true peoples’ movement looks like, it will require these digital citizenship/production skills. So build them.
