I've been using linux since I switched to Suse from minix in the early '90s. I run ubuntu pro on my daily driver, debian or ubuntu on several other systems...

I stopped wasting my time fiddling with the system years ago. Ubuntu is an excellent system that does exactly what I want.

In my experience it's a time bomb that self implodes after a year or so, I think it's a fine enough first distro but generally I don't vibe with it (especially snaps being pushed so much on stock Ubuntu(but most 'buntus are fairly reasonable))

Usually the path is like this

1:Ubuntu based (Mint, Kubuntu, LubuntU etc...)
↓
2:Fedora/Arch/Debian

Sometimes the path is totally different and 2 gets replaced with experimenting with every distro in the known universe

Got it. Thanks. I’ve only ever seen Ubuntu promoted to be honest and never thought of the others.
