There has been some outrageous spin, distortion and bullshit put out by politicians and tame consultants over the years but having a plan to build an electricity grid 45 per cent smaller than the government, and claiming a win by stating its plan is 44 per cent cheaper hits a new low.

I’m in power (25yrs), even worked for a nuclear company that pushed hard for this back when Howard was in power, and the current “debate” feels like a political wedge rather than an informed discussion or anything with technical merit.

Such technical questions ignore that the cost of major projects by governments are always a multiple of govt. estimates (Snowy 2.0 is > 6 times it’s estimate) and this can’t possibly be built in time. Plus see how many nuclear accidents have happened at Sellefield.
But I’m just a big project expert

I've worked with guys that had been Snowy 2.0 and heard of a ton of issues.
I completely agree that any Lib 'model' price given now is so inaccurate for a future project, given so many variables.
I'm not anti nuclear per se and certainly not anti-renewable, just want the best for our country.
