The article has some stretches and untruthes, but did a decent job discussing variety registration. AAFC oversees crop cultivation in Canada for way more than potatoes.
The short of it, is Canadian regulations dictate what can/cannot be commercially grown. And cariboo is a no go. 🤷🏻♀️
