To people mocking up Switch 2's OS you gotta remember there's like 10,000 Switch games with square icons and they're not going to tell everyone to design a new one in a different aspect ratio

Honestly I think this is peak UI design. It worked for PS4, and there's a reason even the NES and SNES Classic Minis used it too!

(I'm also ready for the meltdown of Light and Dark mode being branded as Themes again)

I never understood the uproar about the Switch’s home screen. It’s easy to navigate, big artwork for the games, not covered in ads, what’s the problem?

That being said, they need to update the damn eShop.

It’s simple and works fine, but the UI does admittedly lack personality and feels lifeless when compared to previous systems on both the handheld and console side of things.

I agree. It’s clean and they later added folder management if you wanted to go that route. It never needs to be more than that.

And yeah that eshop is atrocious to navigate and use.

I don't understand why anybody would want it redesigned.
I mean....add a second row, I guess.
