automakers are lying and trying to claim that making it easier and cheaper to repair vehicles will create security risks for consumers
which is weird coming from an industry with some of the worst privacy and security standards in all of tech, currently facing multiple suits for abusing user data
One of the leading reasons for modern cars to become junk is a failure in the computer system after the vehicle is no longer supported by the manufacturer. There are not aftermarket components available because the computers are proprietary hardware.
