I'm not going to fiddle with the paywall but surely Bloomberg outlines as useful context that early experiments with AI in insurance have ended badly for actual human beings, right?
No. But this isn't really the same thing, they're doing machine learning to identify roof materials and flammable pine needle debris on them from satellite photos, basically. "AI" doesn't mean anything anymore
They're going to be big man when the results are 'focus primarily on what you can to right now, decreasing demand and using current, proven, affordable, scalable, tech, ignore fin-tech-bros'
Given that they are trying to solve climate-related problems by cranking up the Ocean Boiling Machine to full blast, I don't have high confidence in the outcomes.
UHC has always denied bills & made both the patients & doctors fight for payment. That has always been their MO. At least as far back as the late 70's, early 80's.
Private Insurance shouldn’t exist.
Cost and coverage it doesn’t assist.
It makes it all worse. What’s the deal?
Profit-seeking middleman want to steal.
Also, it's probably difficult for them to find/retain human beings who are willing to deny 90% of claims. The chatbot has no moral qualms and never complains.

I feel like healthcare would be managed much differently if the same penalties applied.
