I'm becoming increasingly radical on "we need to crush decorum and grind it into a fine paste". Tell people they're fucking stupid and their ideas are bad. Don't just sit there and squirm, if you know someone is wrong and can say how and why, fucking say so.

Is the problem framing, or is the problem that their ideas are Just Incorrect? Those are two different issues. Consensus facts but disagreements on how to respond is different from "I think the sky is orange".

i'm not going to agree that DEI is killing the US, but DEI is an incorrect answer to "why does my job suck so bad?" yelling at them that they are wrong will cause them to double down. and media reinforces it.

so yeah re-framing that is sorta something worth trying imo

I agree, but my point is that so often the argument is "DEI is making them fire only white people" or "FEMA does nothing but steal money" or "USAID gives out billions of dollars in condoms" and that's not a problem you're fixing by shifting perspective

i do agree that there is a robust disinformation machine and i'm not sure how to deal with it a lot of the time.

if we stick with the DEI example, i think it is usually pretty easy to point out the inconsistencies/show folks the ways the anti-DEI argument serves their bosses first.

You're not gonna get anywhere with that, because you're not sharing a reality. They don't see an inconsistency, because the baseline knowledge they have is wrong. You gotta overcome that first. Best way to do so is disassemble that in detail first.
