Very relieved for you that it wasn't worse! Highly recommend having a tree inspection if you many tall trees near your house!

FWIW after our second "tree incursion" our insurance made us make sure we had branches trimmed so they did not overhang our house. YMMV but heads up on that one in case.

We're lucky the branch didn't go through the hot tub cover! The deck will be much easier to repair. Our grill is kinda fucked though 🫤
