What I have heard is that IC directors (and perhaps other highly ranked folks in each IC) will be asked to submit letters of resignation, BUT THESE WILL NOT NECESSARILY BE ACCEPTED.
This is what had me so alarmed all day yesterday.

We are hearing that there is a meeting of all NIH IC directors happening now. We are also hearing, from several sources, rumors about director and assistant director level removals coming soon.
The impact of this wld be enormous.
IC directors have all grantmaking authority for each institute. π§ͺ

This seems to me to be a male dominance play, along the lines of what is going on with Eric Adams or with Mitt Romney when he dined (or was on the menu) with Trump back in 2016.

I hope I'm right that what every happens is limited.
Firing all of them to "fix NIH" would be like doing open heart surgery with a chain saw.
I assume any unit that RFK canβt fit into his twisted view of reality will be axed.
Surviving units will be put under new & incompetent/grifting management.

It may be that we should get legal clarity on this quickly
