Nothing new or profound in the analysis of the terminations, but it is great to reach the full readership of JAMA and beyond as many people who would be interested have not seen anything concrete.

Jeremy Berg, who previously led one of the NIH institutes and has been tracking delays in grant funding being spent, said grant cancelations are a moving target. “There are grants that are terminated, that are being reinstated, so they’re no longer terminated, and it’s just messy,” he said.

Does this count the grants that haven’t been formally terminated but are just quietly not getting their cost reimbursements as has been reported for the ivies and a couple of other places?

I think this is actually pretty widespread. For training grants new stipend levels aren’t posted yet so we have the grant…but can’t appoint anyone as you need to appoint with 2025 stipend levels.
Institutions are not being transparent either as they still think they will get the golden ticket.
