DAO - I like the variety of spell schools and the uniqueness of some spells that invited creative use. My fav spell of all time is "force field", it's so versatile and opens some cool tactics if you use it on allies. Imo DAO is the best game in the series to play a mage

With the caveat that I haven't yet played a mage in Veilguard, I love the mage spells in DA2. They just FEEL good to cast. Cone of cold is a particular favorite, the way it sweeps out in an arc and everyone just stops, all nice and brittle and ready for the coup de grâce...

But even separate spells: with spell might as a reserves, all spalls were awesome. That elemental aura. Healing aura. Resurrection spells. Mass cure wounds.

TBF from Day 1 in DAO we were told how "dangerous and powerful" mages are and HAD to be locked up in towers yet after DAO they become weaker and weaker to the point the seemed mostly harmless in a way.
