for a few years ive been mulling over the idea of a new setting/cast for 'superhero' stories in which one altogether simply flips their relationships to the status quo - the villains are the ones by and large supporting it, the heroes are all some kind of dissident or rebel or somesuch

on the note of 'anti-villains' i mean, given the general trend towards sympathy for/idolization of our ostensible bad guys. not even as a kneejerk contrarian 'deconstruction' -- from codenames and secret identities on down, a lot of the conventions of the format make more sense this way

Heart of Ice is great but it really only gives you a handful of stories you can do for Victor: avenging Nora, trying to save Nora, Nora wakes up. And that’s fine for an animated show that will only need to do a few stories with Freeze, but it’s limiting for an ongoing comic character.

Ram V and Dan Watters did do great work with him in Detective, though, so maybe I’m wrong and it just takes a great writer to find more angles on him.
