I honestly want to ask. Is America doomed? Trump didn’t even win the majority vote but it does seems like he won 70% of your votes. What gives? Where is the pushback?

On a more serious note - America is a federation. Just because we lost the federal government, doesn't mean we lost the whole country. States can still set their own internal EO policies, environmental regulations, financial regulations etc. Maybe things might actually get better.
Salvageable is the word. I guess you can say we’d be more like EU. Weaker central government, bigger difference between states. Red states are going to fall further and further behind in education, quality of life, environment etc.
That… makes a whole lot of sense. I can kinda see thats going to happen. But whatever it is I hope it’ll turn out positively for you guys in the long run.
Yeah the argument that republicans are making that I actually agree with is that the federal gov is too powerful. And he is clearly demonstrating why it’s a bad idea to rely on it for everything. I just wish he handled it like an adult.
It's so weird, as long as most of them have their TV shows and sports teams and can live in their bubble and not directly be impacted then they are pretty happy to do sweet f all. Even the way their press writes is like hmm Trump did an interesting thing, no judgment though just reporting.
I know right? Meanwhile their own governing systems are being dismantled left and right on daily basis, effectively surrendering themselves to do their main adversaries’ bidding.
I think I’m losing my mind watching this as it happens in real time
I've repeated it many times, but from the experience of having lived under a dictator, my only recommendation is to fight now. No one will come to rescue you from this nightmare.
The longer you wait, the worse it will be, because very soon the institutions will be filled with their followers, and they will turn every system of the state against you.
That’s the saddest part. A large portion of society desires this system change. Some because they are insane, and others because they believe they can benefit from it. Altruistic people are the minority in any society, and those among them who are willing to fight are even fewer.
It will have to start in the streets, and with some luck, the institutions and the armed forces will have their moment to prove their loyalty to the constitution they swore to defend. Maybe it’s already too late, but there will surely be no way out without citizen pressure.
Yeah but that’s not what they are doing. The states have equal power to the federal so right now the states are suing Elon and Trump and getting positive results. But if he ignores the judgments then we will be in a constitutional crisis and then we riot?

I mean dude, impeachment didn’t work last time, I am sure as hell it won’t ever work. Laws were thrown out of the window.
While I’d like the law to smite them to hell, I still wouldn’t put my hopes too high.
Best of luck to my all American friends ✌️
