Downside is depending on the type and where it’s located, can pose a threat of breaking and damaging all that too.
There are plenty of ways they can prune branches in ways that keep the tree healthy while reducing the danger it poses in high winds, and if they can't they're the sort who can tell you if the tree is beyond help and needs to come down.
