There is something that never ceases to be weird in how the Kuenssberg Show's layout treats guests including government ministers as props in a kind of theatrical production

The Kuenssberg show in 2024 is a bit as if Robin Day's rhetorical tropes and production style had still operated in the main weekend television times in 1994
It never ceases to amaze me that people are actually watching this “show”. Don’t people have other things to do on a Sunday? Also now that the conservatives are out of power how long more will Kuenssberg have a prime time spot?
Since we're never going to have an intelligent interviewer who is completely free from their own opinions, may as well get an ex-MP and be open about it. That was how the old Weekend World worked with Brian Walden and then Matthew Parris, except Parris (as he admitted) couldn't make it work as well.
Some of Walden's interviews with leading Labour figures in the 80s were tense precisely because they were working over battles they'd been partisans in a few years earlier, but anyone watching knew that.
