It’s over 3,000kms from Moscow to Novosibirsk, most of that supply chain is on the road with big places like Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg and Omsk inbetween. This is a massive problem if they have to stop and search heavy goods vehicles.

More or less one single route of mainly single carriageway. The Soviet idea was to fly freight everywhere, that turned out to be to expensive and there was no money left for high capacity rail or road beyond Kazan.

Ukraine seems to be proactively feeding Putin's (and its apparatus) paranoia.

A sort of of psyop aiming at both reaching a level of internal distrust to create a complete paralysis (or even breakdown), and eat at Russian state capacity to respond to this paranoia.
