I'm more into android robotics, and while it wasn't as "big" as in humanoid robotics or software side of things, it feels like both r&d is picking up (there was a sort of a slump in the field ever since it became obvious Toshiba failed with their project five or so years ago)

I probably don’t need to tell you that 2024 was a huge year for robotics. As a long-time robotics researcher, it’s been amazing to watch; some of the things that I always dreamed about actually seem to be happening.
