I have pulled back from trans spaces because of how it goes. Being a trans woman who is butch and rides motorcycles has meant that it has a habit of becoming anger because I'm viewed by other trans people as "not trying hard enough" to deserve it.

I have found that it's not with most trans spaces or groups. There's a lot of belief in passing as solving a math problem - that if they wear the right things, etc., they will achieve it. The result was much anger over me getting gendered correctly when I wasn't doing what they decided was required

That's so surprising to me. Most of my friends here in NYC are trans lesbians who'd probably describe themselves as futch, and a few proud butches.
