Great piece. Not crazy about taking on the "but what about" crowd. Davis saw the law as illegitimate, defying it at her personal risk. If the N Korea nukes measure was properly brought to Trump's desk, pulling it was an act of defiance. The point is, the value of averting tyranny is worth defiance.

I REALLY love the stat of 3.5%!! I know I read recently that it was only like 3-5% of the French population who made up the French Resistance, smaller than I expected, but...it worked!

This is a good metaphor. I'm frequently talking about moderates who, willing to overlook bigotry and hate, voted for their own self-interest, who will wake up as Trump's policies negatively affect them. It is in them that we will grow our numbers to resist.

There is, now in the public domain, a guide book written by US intelligence in WW2 for resistance movements in occupied Europe. It detailed ways to hinder occupiers by means both spicy & bland; derail meetings with extraneous points, insist on perfect paperwork, etc.
