Like most of us, I'm still processing the single most disastrous diplomatic event I've ever witnessed, but here are some quick and possibly irresponsible thoughts on the likely implications:

1. It seems clear now that there never really was a deal. The goal of the meeting was to humiliate Ze on camera. Trumpists will never forgive Ukraine for Trump's first impeachment, as became clear with Trump's sputtering complaint about the awful things said about Putin.
2. US sanctions on Russia are going to end, it's only a matter of time and bargaining. That's going to start a hard conversation about EU sanctions and whether they can still be impactful. Watch for the US to link tariffs on EU to terminating sanctions on Russia and/or support for Ukraine.
3. Trump will likely now go back to Putin to discuss a minerals deal leveraged against lifting of sanctions. Putin will try to lock in Russia's control of Ukraine's occupied territories by bringing in American investment and making it contingent on formal recognition of Russian control.
It was two gangster beating on a guy because he owes them money. And it was a public beating. To punish. To dissuade. To deter. "This is what happens when you resist, when you talk back. Watch and learn".
"This will make great TV".
It takes a surprisingly long time to acquire nuclear weapons. The facilities to process the uranium alone are huge investments. It won't be a quick turnaround.
Well, Trumps jawdropping rant againt Zelensky prooves once more he is certainly ignorant and both financaly and morally corrupt enough to do so, to the detriment of the US by the way, but then again, Trump never cared about Amercan interests in the first place.
I guess at least now Zelensky and Ukraine know where they stand. No comfort given how dire the situation is, but he can stop grovelling to Shitler now.

Realistically this is going to be disastrous and end with them having neither, but their belief is that they can trade one for the other.
also, it is highly unlikely you have anything to say that hasn't all ready been said 100 x over
show some restraint
I couldn't watch
President Zelensky is desperate to save UKRAINE.
He is smart, and I'm sure he wasn't shocked. Don't forget he walks among his men.
This was FRONTLINE FIGHT.
He had no choice but to give it a shot.
His country should be PROUD of him. It took a lot for him to come

Rubio should not have had the meeting without a real deal to be delivered to Zelensky
Our VP failed today
Zelensky has said thank you a lot and you proved ineptitude by noting you had seen things
The Felon failed today
Maybe he is just too damn old to make a deal
He aggressively attacked then sat back with a smug grin once Trump got triggered and went off.
