This! Everything doesn't need to be done BEFORE and ON 12/25.... especially when a lot of people have time after 12/25 off work and school. And anyway, that's our family philosophy. We bake one treat a week in Dec, spread out activities, crafts, gifts.

For a couple years now, my kids get two calendars - an advent calendar leading up to Christmas and a 12 days calendar that starts on Christmas. The 12 days calendar also helps continue the spirit through school break
