I wonder if that person has no internal monologue. Too often ppl assume their internal experience is the norm & don't know others experience something different. I could see how someone w/aphantasia & w/o an internal voice would need notes to read at all

Why should someone take notes when they read? Journaling in high school for my English class is the first time I didn’t enjoy reading.

huh. i mean, can't you just look at the cover or synopsis and be like "yeah ok I remember that book".

If he's reading 300 a year, he's probably using a system to avoid things he's already read. tags on LT or GR are pretty helpful?

I do for nonfiction, but fiction I just note or highlight or flag pretty lines. Though the last book I read, there were a few times characters reflected to themselves about the plot and it seemed a tricky way to reinform readers via third-person limited, and I noted that. Mostly I just read.
