One thing you should know about Mormons, they can organize in a DAY, they have the infrastructure. They have literal stores of wheat in mountains. They have pre-arranged phone trees and members who are pre-assigned to deploy them.

Went to grad school for art in Philly. There were several Mormons in my school- I got to see first hand the network they had. Many were able to make a good living as an artist because of this support. Definitely a leg up upon graduation in ‘08 when the economy tanked & many of us had to take any job

This has been an enlightening thread. I never knew any of this. I have had a negative view of LDS due to their history of polygamy and related terrible stories. But I admire any community preparation for survival, working together, ready to help each other.

My mom's pantry is a two year supply of bulk food for 12 people that gets rotated through with the efficiency of an Amazon warehouse, so in a SHTF scenario NONE of her storage will be past expiration. This includes spices and flavorings, because your food being flavorful is actually REAL important.
