Today was the day the idea of America died. The free world stands with Ukraine and Zelensky. America has crossed to the other side. What was seen in the White House can never be unseen. Or undone. There is actually no coming back from this disgrace.

Yesterday or the day before, I heard a guest commentator on @lbc.co.uk say that UK has autonomy to deploy nuclear weapons, i.e. permission/agreement not required. The warheads are UK developed, (presumably through AWE/ROF)… the delivery method needs supply/maintenance – that's the US component.

I agree. Of course I agree, but I can’t help thinking about how we do this without severely adversely affecting our national security. The US controlling the launch of UK nuclear defences can’t be something cheaply or quickly replaced. Neither the deep relationships in the intelligence community
