in my experience with musicians, the biggest influence on set start times is literally vibes. granted this is limited to local acts playing clubs/bars, but they all mill around backstage/the green room until some intangible feeling that It's Time. none of them have been able to explain how it works.
Lol I hear that. My only problem with the ending time is that we can only leave the dogs alone for so long without someone at least stopping by to let them out. Late nights are fine but if I didn't plan it out in advance I'll have to ditch early for the pups.
It really should be. I know the whole thing is ambiguous to make you show up early and buy drinks or whatever, but it’s super annoying. Absolutely no reason clubs shouldn’t put out at least an idea of set times
It is: it’s called picking the band. If you buy Lauryn Hill tickets you know that shit will be four hours late to start. Rush - bang on time, three hour set, and at least for R40 they only booked venues with seats because they know their fans are old.

They crowd-source each tour’s average start time from when the doors open, and on average how long each show is.
