Up to this day, all my games are physical and I make sure they do have the complete game inside the disc. No Ubisoft trash or CoD or EA sports for me!
There a reason why the likes of Netflix, Spotify etc have taken off. Buying everything when you're likely to only use it once is a lot of waste! At least if you like it on Gamepass you can buy at a discount
Would you rather sell your game for $70 and potentially sell millions of copies?
Or add it to a $10 per month subscription service and only earn a fraction of that money?
History is littered with examples of devs and pubs that found critical success with their games but failed to achieve sales or revenue objectives.
Ubisoft was a really big company but due to skull and bones not selling and XDefiant being a letdown is now about to be sold to a private company
You can buy it later when it's on sale for $15 dollars and you get to own it.
This type of reasoning never worked with me because I'm from the blockbuster generation and we always rented games.
