Do you playtest the blockmesh asap or do you wait for a first art pass in this case? (since art can affect a bit the visual clarity of a blockmesh layout)
Good question. Since this was an E3 demo we didn’t have time to playtest it (other than internal pass-the-controller type) and just went straight to art as fast as possible. As a general rule, we will playtest blockmesh knowing that later as art goes in, design intentions will get less clear.
As someone who struggles with perfectionism, I LOVE seeing things like this. It really reminds me that some of the best things are just made in stages over time and don't start out being the best thing ever.
