from what I've heard and seen from my VTT using friends (foundry and roll20) might be best to just sell image files on itch/patreon as WebPs, since I've heard those files are smaller -> less taxing for digital storage space, and as whatever form you normally export images as?
Hello, I do use Roll20 almost exclusively and love when I can find token packs, especially if they are easily readable. I use them all the time, and especially enjoy when there are more than just the standard issue versions of DnD monsters. Creative monsters and beasts are a huge win. :)
It seems there's a lit of free resources out there to the point it might not be worth it, at least not to make money lol, but I'd still prolly make some for fun
I use Owlbear and Roll20 so tokens come in handy, although in my experience there's plenty of free assets available for me already
This isn't meant to discourage you, by the way, just to be aware that it might be a competitive market and you should look up some artists that work on it for advice
My friend group has been using roll20 for over a decade at this point. Tokens and maps are always useful things to find, and help immensely with running games.

Dunno how both free versions compare (foundry demo vs free r20)
You CAN however play for free on foundry if a friend whos bought it hosts the game
