The Famicom is making quick progress in the first 5 hours. You can see the bug difference UV makes under the sliding latch between these pictures.

The slider on this one is cracked, but I'll probably just glue it. The flap is set off to the side right now and looked OK color-wise.

Are you modding the video output on yours to something other than RF? I have mine converted to composite, but I can't get the video to work reliably, it looks great, but randomly rolls horizontally.

I'll mod mine for composite. I noticed an early revision I modded looked pretty bad and a newer revision looked better. I have so many of these I never bothered to examine why it looked bad.

Yeah, all it needed was a solid scrubbing with soap and water. I added a Backoffice power/composite board (drop in replacement for the RF/power board) and once I work out the rolling issue, then it'll be solid. It has been suggested I try switching out the 21.4Mhz crystal and see if that fixes it.

What's your take on longevity with this process? I've always been afraid it's just more or less bleaching and UV damaging already weakened plastics.

I live in Texas with lots of sun but I prefer the liquid immersion with UV lighting. I just feel I have more control. It’s only the big items (computers, monitors) that I do in the sun.

The apple spacebars were made of a different plastic and never really match up with the keys. That’s pretty normal.
