Today I saw two little old ladies on a street corner by a grocery store outside Seattle with signs that said "Hands off our libraries." It was a good reminder that a protest can be anywhere. If I can't get to the big protest, I can go stand on the corner and have my own.
What a prescient & beautiful message. I'm in the house today, but I appreciate the efforts of today's protestors. And you're right. This is just a *start*. They will need to keep this same energy for a long time.
I wasn't going to go because it felt too performative. But...this makes me feel better about it. It sucks living in the very white bread part of SoCal sometimes...but I am not alone here.
