So now the govt is literally trying to outlaw concerts of non-white men composers— can we admit what our concerts of ONLY white men’s music has ALWAYS signified?

Gobeldigook on purpose I’m sure. Code for white supremacy is right. I can never tell if these people don’t understand how words work—or if they understand all too well that most people don’t understand how words work.
It's hard to even read that shit. It's so brazenly wrong and nonsensical. But that's the shock doctrine point of it - to try and traumatize people into paralysis.
My entire musical focus could be considered "DEI" (historical women composers). And yeah I'm shocked, but fuck these motherfuckers.
I am guilty of using the word “outlaw” as a shortcut in character count. It is at the very least a form of censorship. And in a capitalist society, cutting funding is a death sentence to most projects.
I understand but I feel strongly about being precise and even pedantic about this as possible ❤️
Again, if things get worse, we need to be able to describe how. It's like a staircase to hell lol and we all need to be very clear which step we're on at any given moment

There's still confusion about what the executive order means on a practical level.
We need space to describe any future escalation
