Therapy can absolutely be brutal at times, but also cathartic. It may take a day or two to process, but I always found it helped when I really need it. Best thing you can do, is have a self care day, and stay comfy and cozy if you can.
As someone that’s gone through a bunch of therapy, and even went to school to study psychology… highly recommend self care days after therapy if at all possible. Clear the schedule, hunker down, feed your inner child. Nourish yourself. Take a hot bath. And decompress ^_^
As a follower and as a licensed therapist, I am proud of you! It's a big step to decide to start therapy, and I hope you are able to find some help and some peace in your work. Keep it up!

As long as you are able to focus yourself on the causing reasons for a possible therapy, you did make the most important step out of the trouble for yourself!
It’s really tough but it’s so worth continuing. I do my therapy sessions on Saturday mornings and sometimes I have to take the rest of the day to decompress.
It's medicine for your brain - it can be really unpleasant but it will really help. I agree with the people recommending you take self care days afterwards to decompress! Sending love and positivity your way 🫂
Therapy is like lancing a boil. A lot of nasty stuff is going to come out, and it's going to be gross and unpleasant. But you need to release all that stuff so you can heal.
But you did it, you took the steps to acknowledged you need it and you got through it. Whilst it may open doors you've kept closed, you should be so proud of yourself 💖 be kind to yourself and i hope it helps in the long run x

But a therapy should help to feel better! If it doesn't, it only worsens any situation. That's contra productive.

Try to take anything else as given and as a part of your individual. So you are able to handle it with all ups and downs.
Therapists are business people, too… the longer their work goes the better their income…
