That was made into a really good Paul Newman film.

Yeah. Joe Bob's death haunts me.

It was a horrible way to go; crushed and drowned by increments. Richard Jaekel was great in that role..

Newman gulping air and delivering it to his brother mouth to mouth gets me every time

And the half-joking look of resignation on Joe Bob's face clinched it.

I note that several of Heinlein's published novels were fanfic of both Oz and Barsoom

I liked the MoonMaid despite its woeful ignorance.
