There was a post years ago about humans being persistence predators freaking out other species. "You run away, and an hour later they're back again!" It basically makes us the monster from a horror movie that just keeps turning up no matter what the main characters do to try to escape.

The idea of what "hat" humans as a species wear is always fascinating to me when it comes up. Sometimes we're terrifying persistence hunters. Others we're the boring jack of all trades. Often it is our adaptability. My favorite though is Dragon Ball where Earth simply has the best food.

That's the same reason so many ttrpgs feature as playable characters the result of humans successfully interbreeding with other species. Fantasy has the half elf, and if you buy into the vulcans = space elves headcanon, than Trek also had half elves.

I took the "everything" literally. Humans will strap a chair to a warp core to try and make factor 12, stick it in any alien they encounter, eat anything that smells interesting, and build sapient androids just to see what happens.

I liked in DC"s Kingdom Come, aliens just started leaving Earth alone after a while. Because while most star faring races had orbital WMDs around their planet. Earth was the only one that had them pointing down

And any species that would do that is best left alone
