No it’s real. It really takes a lot of hard shaking to get it, but it is when babies have brain trauma from being shaken. Being shaken like that is a form of abuse. You wouldn’t accidentally shake a baby that hard, but a mother with severe post partum depression might
i think the word “shake” confuses me. like dont you usually shake a baby in your arms to help it sleep?? is it just specifically hard excessive shaking like you would an adult by the shoulders???
Yes, that is accurate. It is confusing. I’d say you jiggle a baby to get them to sleep. That implies gentleness. Shaken baby syndrome would not imply any gentleness.
