Porn addiction is real in the same sense that alcohol addiction is real, which is to say that it's addictive for a small fraction of users. It's not, for most people, and those who would characterize any/all usage as addictive behavior have got it very wrong.
I bet the usual heteronormative porn industry holds a large chunk of influence over people but they never talk about that. They cannot allow it to soil their reputation.
Very much agreed; and in any case, the type of 'porn addiction' mostly referred to in that context is... far more than erotic art, and usually tied to something far deeper ingrained than the porn itself.
