Thanks for bringing this up. I've had a home page like that since the mid 1990s. When I joined Bluesky I was unsure what to put on my profile. (I had never been on Twitter, etc.) Many people here use nicknames, but others, especially the research community, do not. Today I added my home page URL.

I want to:
- hire you
- share your papers
- read your papers
- convince you to do service work (oops that might be less convincing)
- etc.

And I can't do it if you are so mysterious!

It’s just my personal take, but I like Google Scholar and think it’s great for listing publications and affiliation and as a link in your Bluesky profile. But I also think a dedicated webpage is important as it can contain your email address, CV, and lots of other info.

Is https://ghost.org a good one to use? Ive been hearing a lot about it, but with current research and classes, i struggle to motivate myself to program a website myself.

I would do whatever is easiest for you! Your university might have a page you can use, or there are tons of templates on Github. Here’s one that a lot of people use: https://github.com/alshedivat/al-folio

You could also use Wordpress or other ready-made site, those are also great!

That looks great! Ill look into additional resources. Perhaps i get caught up on the hosting of it, so I procrastinate 😅. But maybe the process of creating it will make me want to sort it out. Thank you so much.
