The Acorn electron is a different PSU to Commodore as the main power supply for the system is internal.
So as long as the case is not damaged / dangerous it is only a transformer.
I used a USB C adapter saves on PSU lumps. PSU for Electrons using 20w USB C psu soon available!
I dug out my power supply for the Electron recently and the part where the wire enters the main housing had been bent for so long, and the plastic wire covering seems to have started to harden and perish. I'm afraid to plug it in!
Yes prone to that as had to cut back & solder back. I really should have replaced it as the cable lost its plasticiser but didn't have any barrel jacks in stock.
I have now made up the USB C adapter!
I still use the original one it came with!
It is the brown slope version which has a good reputation!
I have had it apart checked solder joints which plague the C64 with the black lumps of death!
Also put it on my lab PSU load & tested caps!
I would only purchasing a PSU off a professional site!
Thanks, I have a really old Acorn power supply for my Electron, but it seems a bit worse for wear now. Do you, or someone else reading this, know if it's possible to get a new version of something compatible?
My Vic20 has had several VIA 6522 as I used to build things on it I designed:
Train set control.
EPROM programmer / reader.
8 bit Logic analyser.
RS232.

It was democratized at a scale that doesn’t exist today.
