Hi Kristen, your heart is in the right place, but you miss read the headline, it is the newspapers birthday. Canada will celebrate its 159 birthday on July 1. You should come on up for the celebration, a good time.
Thank you Bruce Heyman, former US Ambassador to Canada, for your insightful and thoughtful words about our relationship to the United States during your interview with Wolf Blitzer today. It is clear that there are still kind, Canada friendly people in your country.
Most of us love Canada & the Canadian people. We're currently under a dictatorial regime run by a psychotic tech guy that absolutely noone voted for & his pets- and they're all russian assets.
We feel your pain. Americans are still our friends. On the other hand Amerussians are the enemy. We are concerned for both of our countries. We know you are horrified to see what is being done to yours.
Everything doesn't have to cost *everyone* money. Access to information used to cost very little - a newspaper, a public broadcaster - but NOW everyone has to pay for everything. Paywalls, paywalls, paywalls. This is a big change, along with university being beyond most people. I paid for it by
working 4 months at women's minimum wage, substantially less than men's but still enough. Now paywalls, subscriptions, fees, sucking everyone dry. Multiple jobs, no time for living, falling out of that "booming economy" & the rich people with investments say it's YOUR FAULT.
Since World War II, many of us have accepted freedom as an inherent part of us perhaps without understanding its true value. And perhaps we not given much to fear that we could lose it.
Thank you for your headline today. It’s a stark reminder that freedom is something to hold dear and protect.

Sorry about the terrible American trump regime.
We’re going to get rid of them.
Wishing the best to the newspaper. I had an article run in it a few months back
