Unfortunately!! It has to do with the authentication. It’s done on their network when the game boots up.

That’s a shocker - I’ve only seen people struggling when playing on not their primary PS5 so far, but if it’s affecting stuff like this then they need to get rid of online dependency ASAP

Yeah I tried everything to get it to work!! And my bf is pretty tech savvy and he also couldn’t get it to boot so pretty sure it’s a network thing

PSN went offline for me again so I tried on my version (same as you, PS4 disc for PS5 version) and it loaded up fine 🤔 very curious what the problem is, one thing I saw is maybe try restoring licences?

I do find it wholly stupid that the playstation needs to authenticate a single-player, non-online game via the internet, even if it's done it before.

It should store the very first authentication like a cookie until it's deleted, or the game is uninstalled imo.

Basic, but necessary gesture.

Yeah it's incredibly frustrating, and understandable for online games of course, but offline ones need to get rid of this repeat authentication requirement really. I don't know if it's something @playstation.com would even consider doing, but a cookie-like system is definitely needed!

When it shows you the PS4 version, there should be an option menu next to it where you can say "select version" and choose the PS5 version.
