Fifteen years ago today, Barack Obama was elected president. We have been through a lot since then. But his election demonstrated the promise of America and what we could become. I believe in that promise still today.

You mean deporting people in record numbers, bailing out banks and auto manufacturers at the expense of the working class, and drone striking innocent people in Afghanistan?
I still believe, but will enough blue voters get off their kiesters and vote? Arkansas is a prime example. Only a handful of dems showed up. We are stuck with this lying sack of 💩
Obama: "Look, um, we may not be able to cap temperature rise to... 2 degrees centigrade. But if we work really hard, we may be able to cap it at 2 and a half... instead of 3"
he demonstrated that compromising with conservatives and centrists get you no where. also an example of the greatest squandering of democratic majority in my lifetime
Sure, except for his cold anti-Muslim actions in the Middle East, ensuring that there remains conflict and hatred with no end in site. The news is enough evidence.
I too still believe. Presently. I think that our branches of government needs a COMPLETE, THOROUGH Review. Trump & others should have known if one “messed around with insurrection , he/she should start packing…. Bonsoir🍃💙🍃
What an incredible moment and incredible day that was!! I will always think of it as an historic "high water mark" -- like, despite everything, that actually happened and it was pretty cool
His foreign policy was atrocious. He had no control over the ACA. Let most conservative Dem, Biden, into the WH. And now we're stuck with Biden and no good leaders in the party.
It's just another proxy war for the same reasons as all the other proxy wars, our involvement way preceeding whatever moment of escalation "started it."
I have been thinking to myself, could he not be talked into running for a candidate once again…
Now that it seems that out of all the 332 million people of the country, the only potential ones seem to be the sitting one (a bit old) and the dangerous narcist fruitcake.
7 years ago, racists upset that a black guy was president elected a conman and the same guy tried to overthrow our democracy yet has a real chance of getting elected again. I don’t have your hope about America.
Pretty sure his election demonstrated how horrible and racist the left are and that we have a very long way to go if we are ever going to truly be a free country again.

As Dylan sang, you know, satan comes as a man of peace. He had a sweet gift of gab and harmonious voice.
Dropped more munitions around the world than any of his predecessors.
A dissapointment to many who had really hoped for better. Including myself.
Minhaj (looking skeptical): "mm hmm"
Obama: "Or 3 instead of 3 and a half"

But nevertheless, this was a time of hope.
He, sir, is a statesman.
And when he broke an NBA strike for the owners? Wow, what a guy!
👍👍
Worth debating what our financial backing means, but it’s not the same.

There are 330,000,000 people in the United States.
It’s hard to please everyone.
I would not want the job.
