Maybe she should go on a sensationalized fact less rant for 8 years and hold herself an inauguration. The Bezos, Musk, et al can just slide her $1 million towards her go fund me.
I think the point is that rich people asking poor and working class people for money probably isn't a good look. No..
No one is forcing anyone but america kisses rich people's asses every single day. Maybe the rich people should give more and beg less. Maybe.
That's exactly it. When I give, it's to people who are worse off than me. If you make min wage, I will tip high. If you live on the street, I always carry cash to give you. If you had a nice house to lose, then I'm sorry for your loss, but you need to take it up with your insurance company, not me.
Exactly. It's like how I love sports but when I see a story about a former athlete who is now broke I sympathize but I sure as fuck don't donate money to someone who made more in one year than my mom did in her whole life working two jobs six days a week.
No there certainly isn't but I do use myself as an example in this way...I'm disabled and can only afford to eat one meal a day. Literally. I refuse to go to a food bank because although I need help I won't take food and maybe the person behind me is a parent with a kid. They need more than I do.
She has a net worth of $14 million. Most of the other victims do not have a millionaire in the family. This should be handled in house. Charity begins at home. Sorry / not sorry.
Here's the story in a form that is actually readable (unlike comicsands)....https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2025/01/12/la-fires-mandy-moore-fundraiser-in-laws/77650724007/
I can't imagine how exhausting the "all celebrities are necessarily financially independent" trope must be. I mean, I find it exhausting and it isn't about me.
This isnβt a generalization, itβs a story about a specific person who has a net worth >$11mil. This is not a charity case. She has the right to beg, but it is undeniably unseemly.
It was so disappointing to see this volume of hate directed at an individual because she was asking for help for family who lost everything. Seriously. We have BILLIONAIRES with more combined wealth than nations, but we hop on this hate train. Donate or don't.
I've worked for a film producer, he had to remortgage his home to fund the project. The money that "stars" make go to paying their staff & equipment. TV/film projects don't come often, so the money made is spread out for the lean times. A lot of them have to have another job to survive

Anyone who helps people in need is a dangerous communists. Avoid the true followers of the Jewish preacher who healed the sick and cured the lame. He is an extreme threat to a Christian America. #MakeAmericaFakeAgain
I think itβs super tacky. They will be ok and not end up in debt and on the street if zero dollars go to their fund. There are people who will be put in a pretty desperate financial place by this and whatβs worse is those people wonβt have a trending GoFundMe to help them. Thatβs who we need to help
It's a disgrace tbh. She has enough money to buy them a new home and all they need but she sets up a go fund me so people struggling to buy food and pay bills can foot the bill. Sorry they lost everything with a baby in the way but open your wallet Mandy.
To the right, billionaire industrialists literally destroying the planet and destroying democracy worldwide can do no wrong, by definition.
So I'm comfortable with celebrities being multimillionaires. If we must have a stratified society then talented and creative people *should* be wealthy.
She's not wrong for saying nobody is forcing anyone to donate. A celebrity blasting a gofundme is my cue to donate to one that isn't so lucky in their friendships
Oof. Tacky. Sheβs got resources the vast majority of us could only dream of. And there are thousands of people who have lost their homes, many of whom are not connected to Hollywood elites.
She is right and has the right to share the go fund me link. With that said, I find it disgusting that these rich people want help from people with a lot less. The sad thing is that poor people are the ones that help the most. Which means that they will have a new home.

Give all of that money to an organization taking care of the displaced animals. Not the displaced wealthy.
I feel bad for everyone that were part of this but don't asked me to help some rich people when I'm already scraping by.
To ask other people for money when they likely don't have a fraction of her wealth is ridiculous.

She's about a billion away from a billionaire. π€·ββοΈ
The middle class needs to stop in-fighting over their pennies, just because SOME middle class are more comfortable.

Just one million?
