Trumpβs immigration policies are a tragic assault on human rights, tearing families apart and violating constitutional protections. Mass deportations disproportionately target vulnerable communities, echoing the 1930s Mexican American repatriation, where citizens were unjustly expelled.
Who decides who stays or goes, and what makes it right? These policies are rooted in fear, not justice. They dehumanize immigrants, disrupt lives, and betray Americaβs ideals. Family separation is not law and orderβitβs cruelty, and history warns us of the consequences of such inhumane actions.
Agree. Bet it hits hard for u with ur specific story. I would imagine it triggered. It triggers me & my story isn't anything like urs.
I havent been able 2 watch it much cuz it triggers.
Even tho I should b watching & doing everything i can

Once I was a painter.

My story
What's stupid is thinking undocumented immigrants brought it on themselves for voting for him. They DIDN'T vote for him because...stay with me here... they CAN'T vote.
Former immigrants... stay with me here... that are now u.s. citizen... with Latino background, voted for trump. Just as women who didn't care about misogyny or even dreamt of being grabbed by their pussies, as the orange moron proudly stated once.
Citizens can have family and/or acquaintances that - to that citizen's horror - now do get deported and which they single-handedly supported with their badly informed vote. Those are the type of "stupid results" being referred to.
I think you're greatly underestimating how many Latino citizens want undocumented Latinos to get deported for not coming to the US the "right" way. They're getting the results they wanted.
I have always cried and imagined the worst if my parents were delayed from picking me up at the school, even by a few minutes. Yet I do not want to imagine how I will feel if my parents are missing when I come home from the school. It will scare and leave a child scarred for life.
I recently read her book In The Country We Love. She talks openly about what happened with her family and how the separation affected all of their lives. Itβs heartbreaking to think that this will happen to so many more people.
A sickening event to have happened to someone as young as she was, and to see it happening en masse today, it must be traumatic for her and many others reliving those memories...
Terrible things are happening outside; at any time of day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They are allowed to take only a knapsack and a little money with them, and even then, they are robbed of these possessions on the way.
I am going to get kicked off Twitter... this is a screen grab of another person's post... My comment in response to it was "Cruelty for cruelty's sake" (like the Latin saying of "Art for art's sake", on the MGM emblem....)
I heard her tell that story on a talk show and it ripped my heart out. I canβt imagine my child coming home from school and Iβm just gone without any idea where or why I disappeared. That makes me sick just thinking about it right now. π
This happened to one of my students when she was in 4th grade; when she was in my class in 7th grade she was still visibly traumatized by her mother being taken back to Mexico despite marrying a native-born American 20 years before. She did everything immigration told her to do, to no avail.
That preview image reminded me of that story from way back about the guy who was producing and distributing CSAM and thought he could hide his identity by using an image swirl, but the authorities unswirled it and he was found and arrested.
The young guys named in the article are going to great lengths to remove their public data (LinkedIn and Facebook profiles, resumes, etc.) as they try to get our private information...
This is heartbreaking. I don't wish this experience on anyone. We are supposed to be the country where people can go to for help. I understand that people have feelings about immigration and that people should immigrate in a legal way. Immigration is a long process. People become desperate.
When I was teaching, I remember the reactions of students who found themselves in similar situations. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to cover it. These are unnecessary traumas visited upon families as a cruel display of power...inhumane and disgusting (which also don't cover it.)
Right wing people always say theyβre only deporting criminals, but thatβs not true. Only if you count immigration as a crime. Itβs not a violent one.
Eleanor Roosevelt did so much to help come up with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Drumpf and Lone Skum are undoing this, as well as a few individuals I will not name. I think immorality is trying so hard because moral values are thriving within decent groups of people.
Deportation and then separation of the deported couple reminds me of something.. 1940βs in Europe.. Next thing π€‘π¨π» come up with is probably that immigrants need to wear a certain badge. Scumbags.

The second, that 50% of all American Latinos voted for Trump and the deportation of their own people.

Let stupid vote, get stupid results.

Then I realised it's an image of Musk.
I sincerely hope also all this isn't triggering you too badly, George. I'm sure it's hard remembering.
Having that level of vigilance so young is essentially having a part of your youth stolen, mutilated off you.

As if the writers predicted it.
Does this girl have housing? I didnβt watch the clip. Is she ok?
