I’m sure that conceptually it’s easier said then done to go from designs of robots meant to be toys to robots in CGI that are meant to be somewhat believable/realistic, but between an alien robot that has a weird alien face and an alien robot that has an uncannily human face, I’d choose the former.

have you seen Bumblebee? or Rise of the beast? They really found a good middle ground between "Realism" and being more true to the OG designs.

Haven't seen ROTB fully yet, but I have seen Bumblebee 2018!!! I do like this iteration more!! I've seen some people complain that they sort of dulled down/cutified his design here, but honestly between this design and the usual bayverse one, I prefer this one a lot more!!

Oh I’m on season 2 of TFP, and tbh it was the opposite; the lack of noses makes them feel more robotic/alien and less humanto me, which I like. I know some people don’t like the blank space, and I do like redesigns/takes on the TFP characters where the brow crests/helms that a lot of the characters-

Yeah!! TFP was legit one of the best series to date! And I eventually came around to enjoy the designs too! Especially considering Starscream’s concept was based around the shape of a cobra 🐍 but coming from my beloved boxy bots in G1, it was a huge change to accept!

There are very few bayformers that I liked facial wise - alot of them kindof were just a mishmash of parts that made it hard to read the general shape/design to the almost realism (ex. lockdown) that made them hard to like :C
