I went to a all boys boarding school in the 70-80s. A guy started to grow boobs (parents took him out of school. Our house master told us his sex was interterminate when he was born and father had pushed for treatment to make him a boy). that was long before we knew there were words for trans gender

I haven't read the article, but I suspect even acknowledging any "evidence" they may have provided as "pseudo-science" is too generous.
"We know how your brain works. It's dysfunctional. You are mentally ill and your experience of your own life is invalid. But you can ignore that and be 'normal'."
