Working on a SignalR based IoT Hub for my battery solutions and playing around with Deepseek-R1, running locally.

Deepseek-R1 really surprises me. The 7b version runs with ok speed, the 14b model is quite slow but delivers better results, deeper reasoning.
Don't mind waiting a bit. Makes me think harder about my prompt.

What do you use to host it, and how much do you pay for it?

I am slightly interested in the topic but doubt I want to spend the time necessary to get it up and running.

I don't have it hosted. I run it on my deskside PC with Intel i7-12700K, 128GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070

Base is Ollama (Windows version) and the UI is Open WebUI.
The installation is pretty straight forward.
So, it doesn't cost me anything to run it.

I'm playing with speech recognition and midi libraries this week, both within the context of #dotnetMAUI.

Trying to scope out a couple of demos for a couple of different talks, along side figuring out whether I'll need to roll my own for either project.
